McArdle' score hat-trick in Derby

The first of these pitches will be officially opened on the 11th July 2007, and is to be named after an all-time Derby County Legend, Steve Bloomer. Steve Bloomer played for Derby County in two spells between 1892 and 1914, he was one of Derby County’s most prolific strikers.

“It’s great to be involved in such a high profile local project” said Business Development Director, Mark Jefferies “and for the pitch to be named after such an historical local sporting legend, gives a great sense of ownership to the local community”. The project has been funded by grants from Barclays Local Spaces for Sports, and by Derby City Council, and follows on from the recent opening of the Aston Hall Project in Birmingham.

All the pitches have been laid with Astroplay M50, the latest in 3rd Generation Artificial grass systems over a 10mm prefabricated rubber shockpad.
