McARDLE ASTROTURF

pembrokewanderersjpgPembroke Wanderers, Dublin’s prestigious hockey club are now pleased to be playing on their new top class facility installed by McArdle AstroTurf.

The sports facility, originally comprising of a sand filled surface, was upgraded to an Astroturf® System 5 water based pitch, designed with a fully automatic irrigation system and 500 Lux floodlighting system. Adjacent to this, a brand new purpose built Stadia Turf sand dressed training pitch, was also designed and installed by McArdle AstroTurf.

The contract was negotiated after Pembroke Wanderer’s Club Manager, Chris Furlong recognised the elite surface and the qualities it had to offer in the AstroTurf sponsored 2003 European Nations Cup in Barcelona. The contract dictated an extremely tight deadline for completion, but due to the dedication, expertise and professionalism of McArdle the project was completed not only within time, but ahead of schedule.

Chris Furlong, Club Manager for Pembroke Wanderers, “We are delighted with the quality of our new pitch and the standard of play it offers. This can only contribute to our teams strength in defending our championship title in the league and remaining strong challengers again for the Irish Senior Cup and Champions Trophy. It has been an absolute pleasure working with McArdle AstroTurf and I cannot fault their professionalism and dedication in providing us with this first class facility.”

As part of the McArdle Group and established for more than 30 years, McArdle AstroTurf’s past acclaimed projects have included high profile systems installed at Manchester United Football Club and the Commonwealth Games, as well as working extensively with schools, colleges and local authorities. They have also recently completed a flagship facility at the University of Kent, comprising of a full size AstroPlay 3G pitch and full size Stadia Turf sand dressed pitch.
