  • McArdle Sport-Tec & Skanska at the All Saint’s Academy, Cheltenham

    3G Artificial Turf Pitch at All Saint's Academy Cheltenham 3G Artificial Turf Pitch at All Saint's Academy Cheltenham McArdle Sport-Tec have completed the construction of a full-size 3G artificial turf pitch, four tennis and netball courts, four cricket wickets and a sprint straight at the new All Saint’s Academy in Cheltenham.  Working as a sub-contractor to Skanska, the project was completed ahead of programme to enable the pupils of the new state-of-the-art school to enjoy the new sports facilities sooner than expected.


    To mitigate excessive import of sub-base material, the old school was demolished and the resultant material was then crushed to the required specification and used as the lower sub-base to the new third generation artificial turf pitch.

  • Marlow HC gets Pro Value

    Marlow Sports and Hockey Club's new artificial turf pitch Marlow Sports and Hockey Club's new artificial turf pitch Marlow Sports and Hockey Club recently held the official opening of the very first Evo Pro pitch from UK based manufacturers TigerTurf.  The opening was attended by both England men and women teams coached by Jason Lee and Karen Brown, playing against the Marlow Hockey Club squads.


    The new pitch was installed by Premier Partner McArdle Sport-Tec Ltd at the Pound Lane site and was project managed by Boddingtons Chartered Planning Consultants.


    John Fordham, Chairman of the Sports Club, and Graham Sweet, Chairman of Marlow Hockey Club, thanked all concerned for a job well done, and emphasised how this new facility would help the club especially with their junior development programme.


    The TigerTurf Evo Pro surface has already attracted interest from neighbouring counties who are also looking to produce similar facilities.  The F.I.H. have also issued a press release on how well this surface can also accommodate other sports often making a substantial difference for ongoing commercial viability.

    Third Generation Artificial Turf Pitch at Stoke City FC Third Generation Artificial Turf Pitch at Stoke City FC It’s now been one year since the successful installation of a FIFA 2 Star Third Generation artificial turf pitch at Stoke City’s state-of-the-art training ground.  By all accounts the pitch has performed superbly throughout the year and is an asset to the club.


    The pitch was designed by the specialist sportsturf consultancy, PSD Synthetics Ltd, using a 40mm monofilament 3G synthetic turf laid upon a 25mm in-situ shockpad.

  • Cheriton Road Sports Ground

    Cheriton Road Sports Ground Cheriton Road Sports Ground McArdle Sport-Tec Ltd were proud to be involved with the new £7.8m development at the Cheriton Road Sports Ground.  After a competitive tendering process, McArdle Sport Tec Ltd were selected to construct two full-size FIH standard TigerTurf Evolution artificial turf pitches together with a number of netball courts and cricket practice facilities.  The project also involved the re-modelling of the existing natural turf cricket outfield.  The new development will be a centre of excellence for hockey, cricket and netball.


    In conjunction with a new floodlighting system, one of the new TigerTurf Evolution synthetic turf pitches also benefits from a newly installed irrigation system used to replicate the playing characteristics of a water-based playing surface for top level hockey.


    The project was funded by a donation from the Roger De Haan Charitable Trust and the land provided by Shepway District Council.  The facility is owned and run by The Cheriton Road Sports Ground Trust made up of volunteers from the local sports clubs.
