  • Stuart Pearce holds coaching session at The University of Worcester’s new synthetic turf pitch

    The University of Worcester hosted an evening with Stuart Pearce on Thursday 28th October, the England Under 21’s Manager held a Q&A session followed by a practical coaching demonstration involving under 16s players from the Nunnery Wood Colts.  The coaching session took place on the University’s new 3G artificial turf pitch which was constructed by McArdle Sport-Tec.  Colts chairman Mark Wilcox said: “It’s absolutely fantastic. To be coached by Stuart Pearce is quite a privilege for anybody.”




     

  • University of Worcester hold Festival of Football to celebrate pitch opening

    Having worked closely with the University of Worcester on this project for a number of years McArdle Sport-Tec were extremely proud to attend the opening of the universities new all weather pitch facility.


    A number of events took place on Sunday 3rd October to celebrate the opening of The University of Worcester’s new third generation synthetic turf pitch including the blind soccer festival and under 10’s mini soccer tournament


    Craig Williams, Sport & Recreation Facilities Manager said  “we were delighted to award the installation contract of the new 3G to McArdle Sport-Tec as we knew from previous experience that the company was extremely professional and well organised in the installation of artificial sports pitches.   We are delighted with the installation and the new pitch has been a huge hit with our University football and rugby union programs as well as the community sports team that train with us each week. Once again McArdle Sport Tec have demonstrated their professionalism and delivered an excellent project that has greatly enhanced the sporting facilities at the University of Worcester”. 


    The official opening was attended by England blind player Lee Greatbach, the Mayor of Worcester, Mike Layland, and University vice-chancellor David Green.


    The university received a £232,000 grant from the Football Foundation towards the new facility, where McArdle Sport-Tec installed TigerTurf’s Total Turf surface.



  • McArdle Sport-Tec & Hertswood School benefit from TigerTurf Innovation

    McArdle Sport-Tec have installed another fantastic new TigerTurf Challenger Hybrid 3G facility at Hertswood School to meet both curriculum and community requirements.


    Phil Younghusband, Assistant Head Teacher, stated that the McArdle Sport-Tec Team had ‘great regard for the convenience of the day to day life of the school’, were ‘professional and a pleasure to have on site’ and ‘the final results are magnificent’.


    Project consultants Mace were impressed by the McArdle Sport-Tec Team and commented that McArdle Sport-Tec ‘offered minimal impact on school operations, achieving all time and budget constraints – with the final product exceeded expectations’.


    The new synthetic turf pitch was officially opened on Wednesday 20th October 2010 by former student Lee Hodson of Watford FC and Ireland’s under-21 International side as well as Henri Lansbury of Arsenal FC.
