• Official Opening of Two Artificial Turf Pitches at the High School of Dundee

  Official Opening of new Artificial Turf Pitches The President of Scottish Hockey, Mr Lee Cousins, joined staff, pupils and parents as Guest of Honour on Saturday 21 April 2012, to officially open the High School of Dundee’s new £1.5M sports facility.  Scotland’s Under-18 Girls hockey team also took part in the special celebratory event.

  
  

  Constructed by McArdle Sport-Tec, the new state of the art facilities benefit from one full-size FIH Global TigerTurf WETT Pro water-based artificial surface suitable for top level hockey.  For the second full-size pitch, the TigerTurf Evo Pro surface was chosen.  As well as a high standard of hockey, the Evo Pro sand-dressed surface also allows the pupils to play a high quality game of tennis.

  
  

  McArdle Sport-Tec worked with specialist sports pitch consultants Sports Labs Ltd, as well as a number of other consultants on this prestigious project, to ensure a top class facility was delivered.

  
  

  The first competitive hockey match played upon the new pitch resulted in a resounding win for the High School of Dundee’s Boys’ first XI.  Let’s hope this is the first of many.

• McArdle Sport-Tec & Willmott Dixon at Hereford Academy

  3G Artificial Turf Pitch at Hereford Academy Continuing to deliver high quality FIFA and FIH accredited synthetic sports facilities with the fantastic new Fieldturf Revolution 42 hybrid ‘3G’ pitch at the new Hereford Academy.  McArdle Sport-Tec also constructed four netball / tennis courts and two full size natural turf pitches within a tight time schedule while maintaining a close relationship with main contractor Willmott Dixon and managing a programme working around other trades.

  
  

  Willmott Dixon’s Quantity Surveyor Kirsten Jones said ‘McArdle Sport-Tec were very proactive at preconstruction stage, helping to fix the design and advising on sporting body guidelines, along with using their extensive experience to help overcome problems. Their Health and Safety was to a high standard and the quality of their product was as good as promised!’

  
  

  Chris Wilson of Hereford Academy also commented that users of the pitch have stated that ‘It’s the best pitch that I have ever played on’.

• McArdle Sport-Tec Ltd Secure 3G Pitch Contract for Wolverhampton Wanderers FC

  Wolverhampton Wanderers - Existing Site Following on from the successful installation of a FIFA 2 Star pitch at Stoke City FC, McArdle Sport-Tec Ltd are pleased to announce that they have been successful in securing a project for Wolverhampton Wanderers FC at its state of the art training ground.  The contract includes the construction of a full-size FIFA 2 Star artificial turf pitch complete with fencing and floodlighting, and is part of a mulit-million pound development at The Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground.

  
  

  The pitch was designed by the specialist sportsturf consultancy, PSD Synthetics Ltd, using a 40mm monofilament 3G synthetic turf laid upon a 25mm in-situ shockpad.
